Seiko is a Japanese company (conglomerate, actually) that has many distinctions. They are pre-eminient as the world's most integrated manufacture, making everything in their watches, right down to oil, gaskets, crystals and springs. As a watchmaker, they make millions of watches per year, from sub-$50 "Seiko 5"s with the 7S26] to $120,000 [Spring Drive] minute repeaters (link
) under their Grand Seiko and [Credor] brands.
I'm a fan.
