James of @realWatchReview asked if I could help him out with a small fix. He has a nice Techne-brand beater, the Goshawk Primus:

Kinda of a mil-spec sorta look, with a Miyota 8217 movement. It arrived with the stock rotor, and the Techne folks kindly sent him the fancy gilt Techne-branded rotor. I agreed to do the swap.

Start with a set of Bergeon screwdrivers and the Otto Frei caseback opener ball:

Opened:

Nice looking movement, a bit of finish does wonders compared to an Miyota 8215.

Rotor is just attached by the center screw:

Bung the new one on, caseback replaced, voila!

I had originally misspoken and said it was an Miyota 8245 - corrected, thanks to Franck J from Techne. My apologies for the error.
