Sad IWC news

Yep, my IWC is off to Tourneau (and thence perhaps IWC) for a movement service. Over the last few weeks, it went from a solid +2s/day to over a minute a week and lately to +20s/day.

Ouch. Not exactly chronometer spec, that.

I was quite apprehensive going in, as I've had horrid experiences with Tourneau in the past; this one was somewhat improved. Salesdroid was at least cordial, and when I showed the T warranty card and lack of visible damage he grew more so.

I did a bit of googling and found that IWC repairs at Tourneau can be OK, so my fingers are crossed. It's gonna suck to be without it for a few weeks, though.

I'm guessing either magnetism or perhaps hairspring damage; either way it's got a 2-year warranty and I'm hopeful it'll be covered. WISh me luck!
