All of a sudden, things are moving forward here on the science front:

The photometer was a snap to program, code to be posted soon, but here's a first-pass look at the Seiko SBDX001 'Marinemaster', charged with full daylight:

That's some gorgously clean data. Here's the same data in log-log:

Even more impressive. I still need to do the dark current (background) subtraction, working on code to automate that. Noise floor looks to be around 3.212908e-07 lux!
So the photometer is already churning out lab-grade data, and I'm learning how to use the microset. Looks like I'll need to buy or make a custom serial cable for it, as the serial out is 1/8" audio jack, sigh. One more hurdle.
